Fagor Duo 10-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner Review

The first time I used this item I was a bit scared of it, as I had no experience with using pressure cookers, but I'm always looking for a way to cut down on time in the kitchen. After hearing horror stories of them exploding, I made sure to thoroughly read the instructions and I even watched the included video. The first thing I made was a pork roast and it was probably the best tasting roast I had ever made!! It was tender, juicy and the meat drippings made a delicious gravy (this was done in about 30"). The cooker does include safety features which helped with my decision to buy this product. I have since made other meals and each one has been successful. I found many great recipes on different internet sites, so it's been fun experimenting and I highly recommend this cooker. I have not used it for canning yet. That will come this summer!!

Fagor Duo 10-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner Overview

Make fresh steamed lobster in 3 minutes, or bean soup in 20 minutes. Risotto? No more standing at the stove stirring for half an hour, you can enjoy moist risotto in 7 minutes! As for ease of operation, here's how it works: load the ingredients, lock the lid in place, select the pressure, and begin cooking. When the food is done simply release the pressure and serve. Your food will be healthier because all the water soluble vitamins and minerals are retained. You'll also enjoy the tender taste of slow cooking and the natural flavors and colors of your food. But best of all? Your cooking time will be reduced by up to 70%!

Next to knives, most useful item in my kitchen - Bret A. Chernak - California
I love beans, but due to the time it takes to cook them, I never made much until I got this pressure cooker. This thing will cook dried beans in about 20 minutes with no soaking. Beets take 10 minutes. It can make tomales in 30 minutes.

I'll admit, using a pressure cooker freaked me out at firs... but now that i've had it for two years and use it a couple times a week, I will always want one in my kitchen... more useful then a blender to me.

Great pressure cooker - J. Williams -
This pressure cooker is exactly what I wanted. It's easy to use, easy to clean and beautiful to look at.

Fagor Duo 10-qt is a WINNER - Brenda J. Tracy - Southern California
I purchased this on-line without seeing it and was very pleasantly surprised when it came. A nice heavy pot, well made, with a sleek design. The capacity is so much more than my dutch oven. I bought it for canning but have used it just as much as a pressure cooker. The video was helpful and the little cook book has enough of a variety of recipes to get you started. I wish you could buy the canning rack as a separate item instead of having to purchase the whole kit. The basket that comes with it only holds 3 quart size jars when canning. All-in-all it is turning out to be my favorite pot and I feel like I bought a quality item that will last me for many years.
